1/ Yesterday I told more of my colleagues that I am hard of hearing than I have in the past 4 yrs that we have worked together. I have always compensated with proximity and lip reading and with those options off the table I am really struggling.

2/ Adult me can advocate - I asked to participate in meetings virtually rather than sit spaced out in large area. I asked colleagues to speak up. I have been fitted for hearing aids.
Child me would have sat silent and scared and missed out on so much learning.

3/ Thinking about silent gestures we can develop together as a class to advocate for ourselves.
