The media/twitter framing of this has been largely horrific and unsupported by available evidence. Do I seriously question the wisdom [and frankly the legality] of an armed 17-year-old driving 40 minutes into another state to "keep the peace" in a haphazard way? Absolutely.

But I've seen everything from implicit suggestions that he fired indiscriminately at protesters, to explicit assertions [absent evidence] that he's a white supremacist. And almost EVERYONE has framed him as the aggressor and the protesters as unarmed/passive. It's utter nonsense.

My heart breaks for Kenosha. It breaks for the loss of life that could have been avoided had any of the parties involved made even marginally wiser choices that night.

But Rittenhouse will likely be acquitted. And people who can't be bothered by facts will burn Kenosha again.
