it says a lot that they didnt have enough concrete details about Bow’s life and character that they just had offhand jokes instead...he was a main character....why would those details not be...concrete

this was the same thing that happened with Hunk in Voltron. again, not a side character. a paladin of Voltron. we barely knew shit about him. except that he was comic relief

we knew? everything about Adora and Glimmer. We spent time with Glimmer’s mom and Glimmer’s aunt and Glimmer’s dad, and Adora’s fucked up childhood. Bow’s family was...like a Very Special Episode

i know this show was supposed to center women and female characters but? Bow is a main character? and a Black main character like? They have his backstory about his parents and his background and thats...it? like...nothing else

Glimmer’s relationship with her family is explored in DEPTH throughout the show. it grows and it changes with her as it grows. Bow’s growth is in relation to his friends, and to what he shows or doesnt show to his family, but its not actively explored
