THREAD: Real Madrid and the future - Best on-going football project in the 21st century.

Slowly, but surely building a team that’s gonna dominate the fotball world in the near future and have a domination that will last a lot, if we keep going on with this project, always...

There’s 2 times when this project can be said to have started, first is when Zidane proposed that a young CB from France, Varane should join Real Madrid.

And the second is when the Norwegian wonderkid, Ødegaard, joined Real Madrid in 2014.

So, how is this a project?

A team that was constantly spending big on super-stars, gradually converted to a team that buys for the future.

Using perfect use of the loan options, Real Madrid most of the time found the perfect destination for their youngsters, where academy products were included too.

After transfering Varane in 11/12, Real Madrid had their first clear window of the ‘new project’, where they mixed their ‘galactico’ plan with the Real Madrid of the future.

Here are the arrivals of 13/14...

5 are still at the club, 2 are starters and crucial to the team.

While from the other 5 in the list, Real Madrid made profit of over €100 milion, that transfer window can be said to have been Real Madrid’s best of the 2010’s.

Later that season, Ødegaard was announced as a Real Madrid player too, a sensation everyone wanted, but Real got.

Real Madrid stopped spending big, and every season there were unproven but promising players around the world.

Approaching 2016/17, when everyone was asking for big transfers, Real Madrid only called Asensio back from loan, got Morata back, promoted Mariano, spending €30m only.

At the end of that season, Real Madrid won the Champions League + La Liga double for the first time in almost 4 decades, with two of the three arrivals, Asensio and Morata playing a pretty important role.

Asensio is one of the most important pieces of the project.

One season later, when everyone was expecting big changes, Real Madrid got Theo Hernandez, Ceballos, and promoted Achraf Hakimi & Jesus Vallejo.

Again spending less than €40m, this is when we can say the transformation from Galacticos - to project future, truly took shape.

3 (Vinicius, Lunin, Fede) are top stars of the project, all three currently at Real Madrid with an important role to play this season, while the other 2 will most likely be here - near future.

2019/20 - Real Madrid is back with the big spendings, but this time, big money on the big project.

Spending big, but for the future, this, the reason why this is the best on-going project!

But not only spendings for the first team, after a long time an academy worthy to be called the best in the world.

A team that was crowned Champions of Europe for the first in history, truly a big and amazing success, that says a LOT.

Understand that this an on-going project, it’s still continuing, some names may fail and surely a lot of new ones will be added, but this is the best on-going project.

In a few years, 95% of these players will be part of the team and most of them as starters..

...and will be leading Real Madrid to glory, domestically and in Europe.

This is a team created with patience, and a lot of belief, when this works out, all we have to do is thank Florentino Perez and everyone who contributed, massively.

This will be the Galactico team, built with an unbelievable project, which will soon prove itself to be a glorious move planned to perfection by Real Madrid owners.

We’re lucky to be witnessing this, for Real Madrid, the future is bright, very bright.
