It was surprising to see a news item in today's' Indian Express showing CIL which comes under Coal Ministry buying Dumpers from Belarus flouting the spirit of Atmanirbhar.

Further shock is when I found the price of domestic Dumpers (Rs.30 Lakhs) Vs this import @ Rs.30 Crores.

As I said in the morning, it makes it worse when we know BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Ltd) B'lore was set up in 1964, precisely to manufacture large Dumper Trucks, Excavators, and the like in the Public Sector. They do make advanced versions as shown in (1) vs the ordinary ones (2)

BEML's Dozers were called the "Silent Soldiers" who built the roads in Kargil along with the EME of our Army then & now helping on the same task further north. Now, they are getting the "rewards" for their contributions to national safety!
