See Igbo culture and misogyny are very intertwined. I have watched my mom and aunt take responsibility for their parents until they died while her 6 brothers debated about land and shit and contributed money for their care when they could.

My grandfather insisted that his daughters would be educated before they got married, great. His benevolence never extended to including them in a will. For all the kindness of my mom's brothers, they never included them in the land either. These are good men.

My dad and I were having a conversation where he was discussing the family home in the village and I wasn't really engaged in it and he asked why, I told him that as far as I knew that place was no longer my home so I really wasn't invested in it and he sago talk to my brothers
