The complexities of what we are facing today are deep rooted. 7 shots in the back of a man because of resisting arrest unarmed is ABSURD. But another man fully armed with 2 dead bodies on his name gets to walk. That ain’t right people.
I’ve been thinking (for myself, some of you should try it) about what happened not just this week but specifically the last few years. As much as I don’t want to say it, the events we see blasted around are in reality isolated. Does that make them right? Hell no.
Do we need change? Hell yes. We are so captivated by whatever shows up on our twitter feed or tv that we forget where we are. Is America perfect? Not even close. But is it the greatest country in the world? Without a doubt. I’ve been around just about every race in my life..
That’s not to say I’ve seen all the experiences they’ve been through or understand how they feel. I say that because it’s given me perspective. As a white man I’d be naive and ignorant not to acknowledge if I walked into a place with a black man, we aren’t perceived the same...
That’s the complex part that is so deep rooted. We can’t ignore the fact we have come a long way just like we can’t ignore the fact we have a long way to go. I’m rambling on this thread but here’s my take. I firmly believe canceling everything is not the answer we need...
