It is by design that the prison system *can& #39;t* address rape culture & criminal justice systems *can& #39;t* achieve justice. Imprisoning ppl doesn& #39;t make anyone safer &especially not precarious subjects who are often victims of the violence/injustice these systems pretend to deal with
Abolition aims to address the root causes of violence & injustice, which these systems actually legitimize, facilitate and reproduce. Abolition seeks to eliminate the conditions that make prisons pose themselves as a "solution" when they are an embodiment of capitalist violence.
