Billboard Japan Chart, YouTube data handling changed from September 2020
The method of reflecting YouTube data on the Billboard Japan Chart will be changed.

Until now, on the Japan chart, both YouTube video streaming and audio streaming were reflected in the chart with the same coefficient.+
The number of times played by the video player is the video playback point, as an audio only art track or audio only mode / The number of playbacks in the background playback mode is reflected as audio streaming.
In addition, it is possible to aggregate the playback by YouTube Music Premium members and free members. In the future,+ it will be aggregated that playback by YouTube Music Premium members will be more important than playback by free members.+
Regarding audio streaming, the number of views played by YouTube free members is multiplied by a coefficient equal to the number of plays (estimated value) played by Spotify free members and reflected on the chart.
The Japan chart is a comprehensive chart that combines eight types of data: CD sales, download, streaming, radio, lookup, Twitter, video playback, and karaoke. The changes are being made to accurately reflect streaming revenue and user viewing behavior.
