They let this dude just walk off scott free while he was legit threatening them. If you seriously want to understand why so many POC in this country are afraid of cops while a man gets shot in the back SEVEN GOD DAMN TIMES, while this dude doesnt get shot once, do some research. https://twitter.com/ShannonSharpe/status/1298737337484992514
It sickens me that a bunch of people on social media in general want to tell me that these athletes have no voice and have no compassion to play. THEY ARE HUMAN! THEY ARE LIKE US. THEY HAVE A BIGGER PLATFORM THAN YOUR TWITTER FINGERS!! They shouldn't have to be obligated to you.
The fact that people are making this a political issue is the problem, the fact that people want to dig up his criminal records no matter the fact he was trying to intervene a fight is a problem (massive problem in my opinion). Use your platform for good. This is a moral issue.
I'm almost crying tweeting this thread because I know as human beings we are told to do better no matter your structure in this world but I know that may never ever be enough. But it isn't our job to tell others what to do. These athletes have that platform I dont. I want better.
We as human beings NEED TO DO BETTER!! Black lives matter continually and never should there be a moment when they don't. Blue lives never existed until this year. You aren't born blue, never were born blue, you're grown into it if you want to be a cop. Law enforcement has failed
It should never EVER matter the color of your skin to be able to live a life. I don't care if Jacob Blake was a criminal (you're a seriously messed up man or women if you're trying to dig up his shit I swear to god). There are people who deserve a second chance. Now hes paralyzed
I write this because I am angry at how the world treats our athletes and puts them on this pedestal. I commend everyone yesterday who did what they felt was right. Human life is bigger than shooting hoops or playing baseball. Human life is precious, we shouldn't waste it.
