Hi I’m Chloe, I research Pan-African Heatwave Hazard Forecasting.
@UniRdg_PhD
I am very excited to share with you some of what I’ve been researching for almost a year.
My huge thanks to all those involved, you're all amazing💖

Before turning my attention to Africa, I started my research looking at #heatwaves🌞in the UK.
I was very lucky to be able to collab with one of my former MSc lecturers for this🥳
See my Article based on this work: https://theconversation.com/heatwaves-are-an-invisible-killer-and-the-uk-is-woefully-unprepared-144703

Since 1980 the number of days where the UTCI -biometerological index- mean is above the #heatstress🥵threshold has increased for all regions of Africa.

You can access the UTCI data as part of #ERA5-HEAT here, for free: https://doi.org/10.24381/cds.553b7518

Currently my research focuses on case studies for the countries of Uganda🇺🇬 East Africa and Ghana🇬🇭 West Sahel Region.
To lead into linking heat with impacts. #ClimateChange (4/5)
There's still plenty to do😅
But I can't wait to see what else happens in the next 2 years!
If you want to keep up to date with my project, it’d be fab if you follow me @ChloBrim and please check out my project webpage: http://www.walker.ac.uk/research/projects/pan-african-heatwave-health-hazard-forecasting/
