Okay so, abled people who don’t know she-ra if you see someone saying

‘Entrapdak is ableist’

Then please be aware the folks saying this are likely abled and this is not in good faith.

Some abled folks despise the idea of disabled romance and sexuality in fiction and will bend over backwards to justify this.

When in bad faith the reasoning will involve infantising Entrapta by saying a 30 year old woman is too immature/naive to be in a romantic relationship.

Or erasing her cannon romantic attraction to Hordak because she’s too ‘pure’ for him.

In bad faith reasoning Hordak will be desexualised. The idea of a visibly disabled body as attractive or him having a sexuality will be mocked.

His trauma as a cult survivor will be erased and ignored.

Finally Hordak is a war criminal and must be held accountable...but Entrapta is totally innocent was manipulated and lacks the mental capacity to understand she did wrong.

Again this is infantisation of an autistic character.

Disliking this ship or taking issue with it isn’t inherently ableist. But when the reasoning behind it is, or an abled person is deciding what’s ableist, that is in bad faith.

So I want abled people not in the fandom to be aware.

I’m bringing this up because there’s been a recent racist joke made by the stpop crew and a following poor apology.

Some abled people are complaining in bad faith about the ship as it was mentioned by the crew in the same podcast(?)/thing.

I feel that given racism and the issue of white dominated animation is being discussed it is derailing to bring up pet ship hate.

Especially for white abled people to do so. As white people we should not centre ourselves. Abled people this ain’t your call to make.

I made this thread so abled people who do not know the fandom have awareness.

Some abled people are using recent events in bad faith to argue against fan content they hate because it centres disability and disabled desire and intimacy.

I am white so listen to and spread bipoc and disabled bipoc voices above my own on these issues.

(I hope this thread in itself is not derailment. I will take criticism and accept accountability if it is.)
