Latest UCAS data on teacher training applications shows that new applicant numbers slowed in August compared to July, but are still way above the level of new applicants we would expect in a normal August
The overall number of applicants up to mid-August is 16% higher than last year, 14% higher than 2018 and 12% higher than 2017
One of the key questions now is whether there will be enough school placements next year, as schools focus on reopening/ staying open safely.
