His widow Annie was in the process of completing the @CWGC verification form which had been sent out to her when she too passed away. The form was returned by Norman's father, who informed the @CWGC that Annie had been buried with her husband. 2/4

Although Annie appears to have chosen an inscription for her husband's headstone before she died, given the circumstances the @CWGC wrote back to the family to see whether they wanted something that also remembered Annie. 3/4

Today, Norman's grave is marked with a @CWGC headstone, with the chosen words:

ALSO HIS WIFE ANNIE
DIED 27 FEBRUARY 1945 AGE 21
IN DEATH
THEY WERE NOT DIVIDED
