Things I've learnt as a newbie developer. These can help you too.

A thread

1. Everyone's journey is different - When I started coding, I would see Devs on twitter posting amazing projects and I would think to myself waow when would I be able to do that. But I've come to
realize that everyone's journey is different. Just focus on yours.

2. Do one thing at a time - My research taught me that our brain was made to prevent us from doing things that could make us uncomfortable..That explains why most times we find ourselves not wanting to do what
we know is right. To help with that, I have learnt to focus on just one thing at a time and make sure I see it through to the end..It helps a lot.

3. Learn in public : I learnt this trick from @lauragift_ . Learn from others tweets, projects etc. Be open to learning always.
4. Be consistent : At the moment I struggle with this the most. This is my third attempt at the 100days of code and I'm already lagging behind. Its hard to be consistent but its worth it. Learn to be consistent.

5. Google stuff : Googling! Googling ! Googling! Its an underrated
skill and its free. Find answers to issues..the more you do it the better you become.

6. Start from somewhere : I say this time and again, don't let anybody deceive you and say you have to build a project all by yourself from scratch without any help. Its a lie. We all need help
So if you have a project in mind and you're not sure where to start, watch a YT video or read an article. While there, try to explicitly clarify the necessary requirements for the app. Then build along..type out code by yourself. Make frequent pauses to check bits of code
that you're having a hard Time understanding. That's how to learn..watching a single video can teach you 5 new things that you'd never had learned anytime soon.

7. Have a coding notebook : I have a coding notebook where I write down important concepts that I have come to learn.
Eg its a general concept especially in react that when you want to remove an object from an array you don't do it directly. Instead you create a new array that has all but that particular object..I forget this a lot but ever since I wrote it down, I just take a sneak peek and I
remember. Jotting things out like that really helps.

8. Comment on good things : Stupid as this may seem, commenting on or sending DMS and emails to people that inspire me does a lot to my self confidence. Enjoyed a tutorial? Drop a thankful comment. Liked a website
or a portfolio, send a DM or email telling them that. It opens doors. I promise..

That's it for today. Remember, you're my fiend and I want to see you do good. Cheers to the future.
