Like a minor character in a Le Carre novel, i am meeting a man in a car park at Charlie de Gaulle Airport today to be handed something. More accurately, two somethings: the kittens we rescued in Tbilisi last sumner 1/nw
Initially we tried to find them homes or a place in a cat rescue centre. We were unsuccessful and had to concentrate on finding a foster home while they underwent rabies jabs. They were meant to fly to the UK this Spring but covid meant all flights were cancelled. 2/na
A route to Paris opened up recently and someone kindly offered to fly them here for us as it is still difficult for foreigners to fly into Georgia. They arrive at lunchtime and we then drive to Calais for Le Shuttle. Why so much fuss and expense for two kittens? 3/n
other animals have lots of people who will help them. These two had only us. The younger one was in imminent danger and would not have survived without someone stepping in. And once we stepped in they became our resposibiliy. Pix later. 4/4
