Finally figured why Nair’s #ASuitableBoy failed despite the amazing cast. In the book Seth builds such unforgettable characters peppered with fabulous details. Because of that, the banter between them works gloriously.

The screenplay writer tried staying true to the book retaining those exchanges, but the series is too short to do justice to the characters. So it ends up being gimmicky and odd.
