Imagine a reality where mutual aid and reparations networks exist in abundance and widely accessible to Black people which enable them to strike/withhold their labor. Imagine a world where Black people prioritize their health, grief, healing and wellbeing over anything else.
We deserve nothing less.
I quit my job back in May bc my employer was abusive and didnât value my life. I have been experiencing a sustained housing crisis since November. Stop telling Black people who are suffering under capitalism to âget a jobâ and instead support them so that they donât need -
engage systems that contribute to the precarity of surviving while Black under late capitalism during a global pandemic. Not only does it ignore the very real and present danger of being Black it lacks compassion for people who are grieving, suffering, exhausted, and traumatized.
