I’m just gonna make a thread about my opinions on all the fucked police brutality and riots/protests that have been going on for months now cuz I just want to and I have nothing else to do
So first I just want to say I don’t necessarily agree with rioting and causing property damage but I do understand that people are doing it cuz they’re fed up with all the things that have happened to black people and just want to show government officials they are fed up
The only reason I don’t agree with it is cuz how the media pushes this narrative that people are just using police shootings as an excuse to “get free stuff” when that’s not at all what they’re trying to show, they’re trying to show that they’re sick of being treated differently
And they rightfully should feel this way but when all you see all over the place is people breaking into stores and not uniting and deciding to march as a collective to make change all the stubborn old white people (aka all government officials) aren’t gonna help with the change
I’m very aware that rioting has worked in the past and has helped causes but that was before twitter and Instagram and the ability to easily push this false narrative and be able to just bullshit their way into making a movement look bad or look like it’s just people looting
And it may seem like peacefully protesting might not make people listen or come around to it as much as force might but i personally feel like doing that is better than giving people the ability to push a false narrative that the black lives matter movement is to get free shit
To finish this off I just wanna say I do support the blm movement and I understand why people are rioting but I just think it’s not necessarily the best way to go about things in today’s world due to the ability to shove false narratives down people’s throats and I do want to see
Change in the world and I think judging by skin color is wrong cuz at the end of the day we’re all human we’re all the same species were not built different or anything we may be brought up different but we’re all bones blood and skin
End of thread, just wanted to get this out cuz I’ve just seen a lot of shit on twitter and I’ve wanted to give my opinion on things under the trending but I didn’t want to just fight with people all day cuz I don’t wanna deal with all that negativity but yeah.
