In terms of the “lighter” SPOP discourse how do you fuck up this badly???? Esp with groups you’ve tried to support????

A lot of thoughts are kinda running through my mind but like, seeing stuff like this in the animation industry happen so often is so fuckin frustrating and discouraging esp with shows that “champion diversity”

This past month feels like it has been so fucked up for black animators and artists with people getting ghosted by companies and even before that they only reached out bc the black community is being fuckin terrorized and killed by the police

sorry it’s late so my emotions are way too amplified but tldr: diverse shows should have diverse staff (esp ones that line up with character backgrounds) & the animation industry in practice can be anti black

Ofc with this thread it’s mainly focusing on the anti-blackness of the SPOP staff comments but there were more things such as a non-lesbian saying the d-slur and also stating double trouble was “perfect rep” for non binary ppl
