I'm about to pop some uncomfortable theories about this book #MidnightSun

SM understands that Twilight was problematic & is trying to fix parts in this book.

Edward acknowledges he's acting creepy af at times.
There is a lot of Edward bashing from his siblings.
1/?
But there is also more explanation as to why he is the way he is.

Which actually has been interesting.
While Bella unfortunately is still an empty receptacle. Hindsight is showing us, through Edward's eyes, what she will become in a few years.

2/?
"You're my personal brand of heroin."
While still problematic, makes more sense with explanation. (I'm only 415 pages into the book)

The pomegranate, Hades & Persephone mirror isn't really a bad allegory. I can see it.

Our boy Edward might be demi, don't @ me on that.
3/?
It's clearer in chapter 18, between pages 382-414 where he's discussing how he never really felt anything romantic until he met her.

There's a word for that 1920's boy.

(More to this thread the more I read)

4/
Pg 430 : "it's a loose interpretation of the word boy, I'll admit."
"I was under the impression that you were something more actually."

Soulmate, Bella. That's the word you're looking for.
That's the word we were all sleeping on back in 2005 & didn't realize until 2008.

5/
I'm not sure if it's because I haven't read it in a while or I'm getting the movie mixed in or if Bella truly was so "dazzled" that she suffered memory loss, but it seems there is a LOT more kissing in this book then compared to the original.

6/
I have to admit, pages 613-614, where Edward prays for Bella is one of most powerful scenes in this book. It's written so very well.
I am in awe.
