Nishimura Riki — a thread.

before i go further with this, i just want to put out that english isnt my first language so im sorry for any grammatical errors in the near future of this thread.

this thread is quite long because i just want to talk about the issues that has been circulating around niki right now so please bare with me

the evil editing started ever since the first episode was released; taki said that he wanted to stay with niki in iland but niki ended up voting taki out. note that mnet PURPOSELY used these two as a 'teaser trailer' to get people riled up for the next episode

when episode 1 was released, people now had mixed opinions about niki because of his 'r*de' behavior. before i dig deeper, havent you noticed that they only showed niki's panel of him voting off taki? out of all the members, they focused on niki's choices and it made him look bad

they used this as leverage to maintain 'drama' because this is a survival show. but since this IS a survival show, please dont take niki's choices in that moment personally because he also had a hard time deciding whether who he shouldve voted for

i'll admit, it does hurt for a friend to vote you off, but maybe niki was just trying to not be biased? i think taki is good at dancing, but maybe he also saw the potential of the other members? from what I've noticed, most trainees voted off the people who they werent familiar +

+ with which is a bit unfair in my opinion; even the surprise test in episode one was unfair because the voting system was off and as the available slots in iland kept decreasing, they became too cautious with each other and it also affected the voting system.

but back to niki; remember taki's reaction when he found out that niki voted him off? he was okay with it and he kept it cool. those two have practiced with each other for a while and i think the reason that taki is fine with this was because he knew that niki didnt mean any harm

when niki got sent to the ground, taki was really shocked because he didnt expect niki to be there; taki was worried for him but niki reassured him that its okay, that they can go back to iland. just from this moment, you can tell that they trust each other and that they have+

+ a bond with one another. niki was even happy for taki when they announced that taki will be sent to iland. in conclusion, niki never had bad intentions towards taki; he just felt lost and maybe pressured when he had to vote someone off.

he was happy that taki made it because at least taki could go back to iland.

niki is not s3lfish; this is a survival show. im sure that all of the trainees wanted to make it to iland so that they could debut and reach their dreams. they are no different to niki, hes just working hard so that he can also achieve his dreams.

there is no need to hate on him nor the other members because they all share one goal in mind; to make it to iland and to debut.

on part 1 test 4, we witnessed niki losing confidence in himself. before you come at me for saying that he was indeed 's3lfish' in that part, please bare in mind that he was just unsure of himself because even though he worked hard, he wasnt able to go back to iland.

because of that, he didnt think that he was worthy enough to lead them. as you can see here, he was also having troubles with himself; mnet shouldn't have taken advantage of him in that state just to make him look bad for 'content' or 'drama'.

deep down inside, he was just worried for his team and for himself.

i was really glad when rain appeared; he was a good speaker. the ground didnt have a leader yet but rain was able to talk to them and snap them out of it.

his words were able to reach them well because ever since rain talked to them, niki felt a confiedence boost; it was a scene to be proud of because you can see niki's character development blossom

he may still be young, but hes learning and adapting to the situation quickly (which is remarkable!). niki ended up being a great help to them and he was a great leader; he even talked to them individually just so he could point out their parts to help them improve. hes amazing.

niki sacrificed his time to practice just so he could help the others. this is the result of all their hardwork, and its also thanks to niki who helped them. theyre really in sync too

niki is not c*cky; he's aware of his skills but he doesn't show off. the adlib that niki added to the intro of dna was something that he'd been doing ever since before in a dance cover.

regarding the incident with niki and k; niki wasnt opening up to him so k was just worried about niki because he didnt know what was troubling his friend. k only wanted the best for them so he talked to niki about it, in hopes that maybe niki would tell him whats troubling him.+

+ think of it as sibling talk; k had his concerns and he needed to talk with niki about it – nothing more, nothing less. they were not f!ghting with each other, they just had their differences. niki never disliked k even after this, he even said that he respects k

if you still think that "niki only thinks of himself" then you're wrong. we all know that dancing is his passion; its where he finds his confidence in.

niki is an amazing individual with incredible potential. he's not r*de, he's not arr*gant, he's not s3lfish; he's not what mnet portrays him to be. niki actually has a lovable personality and hes like a bouncing ball of energy. have you seen him in the off-cam clips? adorable:(

whenever mnet uploads an episode they often show him as cold, moody, and unexpressive but in off-cam videos, niki is complete opposite. just look at him

remember when niki got back in iland? have you seen how happy he was? how happy they were? this was the only episode where mnet showed niki's true side; his bubbly and playful personality

when niki recieved his gift from jungkook, he kept saying "jungkook sunbaenim!" in an excited voice repeatedly as he was opening up his present. he was so happy and grateful to the modernized hanbok that jk gave him and he wore it right away

he ended up wearing the hanbok all day

he's also really considerate; look at how gently he closed the door when he saw that jake was sound asleep

he just wants to have fun:(

im very proud of niki; i believe that he can accomplish many great things. at such a young age, for him to dance and lead so well is all thanks to his hard work and dedication. he is very talented and i respect him for chasing after his dreams

its really sad to see that people are still falling for mnet's evil edits. please dont judge someone based on what mnet tells you; see for yourself, do some research, and watch off-cam vids. from there, you can see what they're actually like.

all in all, niki is a passionate and lovable boyo that is constantly doing his best so that he could achieve his dream. we are endlessly supporting him and i hope that you could join us and support him as well
