Most of my posts are about life, marriage or tech. I do my best to keep it positive and never stoop at attacking people. That& #39;s never productive anyway. For those who care to listen, just know that the recent events in Wisconsin have been hard to swallow for black ppl. I& #39;ve seen
so many negative comments about what happened in this case or how black ppl would typically be alive if they just complied with what police said. That is hard to follow for me personally because there are examples of folks who did comply like Philando Castille who were still
killed. A part of me aches every time I hear another black person is killed by police. Many of you know that this hits close to home because my cousin was killed by a white police officer while he was complying. How do I know he was complying? Because my cousin was also a cop.
He was shot with a badge in his hand while he was yelling "police" and giving the hand signal for an officer in distress. The police officer who shot my cousin SAT IN THE CUBE NEXT TO HIM at the station. I& #39;ve seen the video from the dashcams. My cousin was murdered and we& #39;re
no where close to getting justice for him. The officer who killed him wasn& #39;t indicted nor has he even missed a paycheck. No charges. No suspension. I still don& #39;t understand how you can shoot someone you sit next to at work on purpose and not even get charged. Please don& #39;t
assume that black ppl won& #39;t get shot if we just comply. It& #39;s offensive. Yes ppl should comply with law enforcement but lack of compliance should not mean being shot or killed unless absolutely necessary. But if my cousin can get killed as a black cop by another cop with cops
all around yet still no justice, it makes it hard to believe that there will be justice for folks like George Floyd, Breanna Taylor & Jacob Blake.
My cousin& #39;s name was Jacai Colson. 1st cousins. He was in my wedding. Wonderful young man. Even our pain in situations like this is portrayed with bias. Articles like this one ( https://bit.ly/3b0M6Yw )">https://bit.ly/3b0M6Yw&q... said my family was seeking in excess of $75M. You wouldn& #39;t believe the
negative comments we got about being money grubbers and trying to profit off his death. Look at the very bottom of the article and see the fine print that the lawsuit was in excess of $75k not $75M. Ridiculous.
