Vent thread incoming.
Just tried, yet again, to talk to my dad about wearing a mask when going to shoot pool with 11 other people, and I`m just done. I know I haven`t experienced being out in the world proper since this whole thing started, but it honestly scares me when I hear-

that he doesn`t wear a mask around his work buddies because he has been working with them for the last 6 months without incident. And those 11 other people (not counting the bartender) weren`t wearing masks. Then he asked me why I don`t wear a mask around him, or around my mom-

when she goes out, (My mom wears a mask, and so does my uncle), and I just..... I`m done trying to reason with him. He keeps saying to stop worrying about things that have little chance of happening, yet if it did, all of us would probably not survive. I just don`t get it at all!

I mean, am I wrong to worry about this? Is it wrong for me to ask him to wear a mask, since I don`t leave the house? He says I can`t really criticize him about this one thing, even when I never realized he doesn`t wear his mask the whole time at work, when I seem indifferent any-

other time? He tells me not to worry, but that is easier said than done. My mom doesn`t agree with him, even said he was being selfish, but I just think it`s reckless. Every member of my household falls under the ones most at risk. His mentality is "don`t worry until it happens!"

which is just.........UGH. This pandemic hasn`t helped my anxiety (and probably caused me to develop some form of depression), and my dad just. Doesn`t get it. I`ll admit, I grew up spoiled, and barely know how to be an actual adult, but I at least have SOME common sense.

I`m done, just fuck it. I can`t control his choices, I can`t change his mind, so I`m just done. I`ll leave this thread with this: No matter if you know the people you are with don`t have it, and even if you aren`t with many people around, wear a fucking mask. Just wear it. Bye.
