when we create awareness, we can calibrate our mental models

EI = a very strong predictor of individual performance and organizational effectiveness (you can use this to multiply your cognitive abilities)
the smarter you are, the more uncomfortable you are with discussing your vulnerabilities

it's okay to not know anything and by being honest + admitting this fact, you become open to new insights and learnings (collaboration)

emotions are a signal
where feelings matter most is where we direct our energy:

1) Attention
2) Decision making
3) Social relations
4) Health and well-being
5) Creativity, Effectiveness, Performance
anger is not a negative emotion because those that are angry fight for changes (since they can no longer deal with the current situation)
optimism is the recognition that the current times are hard but I will work towards a better outcome/state

adversity is not permanent
how to improve your emotional resilience

1) identify what your feeling
2) express it!
3) use stress management skills
4) be more optimistic (know that while what you are feeling right now is valid, better days will come <3)
