This year police have killed Black people at 2.5x higher rate per population than white people - and Black people were 1.5x more likely to be unarmed. http://mappingpoliceviolence.org
Of the 751 people killed by police through August 22nd this year, 558 cases were identified by race. Where race is identified, Black people were 28% of people killed by police and 35% of unarmed people killed by police despite being 13% of the US population.
These racial disparities have remained relatively constant over time as far back as we have data (2013). Black people have been 26-32% of people killed by police each year. The total number of people killed by police has also remained constant at 1,050-1,140 killings per year.
