one day one day I will actually manage to scramble together a full Shohari cosplay group... I am trying to recruit people in it, but it is hard......

will forever b salty Shonen Hollywood slipped underneath everyone's radar just because it aired right BEFORE the male idol boom
I don't talk that much about Shonen Hollywood because... complete lack of new content these years, but shohari announcing some sort of return out of blue on a youtube livestream earlier this year gave hope...

ya can't place any of the mains in a stereotype box and I love that
Kakeru being a more subdued, into his head, kind of mc really feels nice? shohari did new things in the male idol genre... an introverted main, who does not even start out as the center, is a nice change of pace.

& the series doesnt need super dramatic stuff... it is all life
even though most of them attend high school the series is never set IN high school; it is merely used as a narrative point and never the focus. one other member is a dropout-

despite the characters being like 16-17; they got a nice balance of mature and silly moments.
& when the series focuses on the adults; it is nice. the interactions with the old, grown up, and new members are so good.

stuff like 'their dreams didn't come true' after Tommy watched the old-shohari video hits hard. I just love the way Shohari handles things & stays realistic
Kakeru; struggling because his sis tells him to shut up when he sings at home? Tommy upset at the ex-members their fates; their drifted apart? Kira having trouble putting down work because he was a child actor? Shun not knowing why he is doing this?
and Makki being selfconcious due to dropping out & not knowing WHERE he belongs?

all realistic struggles and all relatable in their own way.

I just rlly love the way Shohari frames everything & also highlights the trouble of having an on-stage persona so different from yourself
this uh turnt in quite a thread, but I can't stress enough how much I can recommend Shonen Hollywood.

The script is written by the og bookwriter and you feel that; it is not for everyone this style, but I adore it. Narrations feel like they came straight out of a book.
but uh oops end of thread.... I didn't intend this spam--
