Doherty is being strongly linked with Spurs from Wolves for around £12m seems likely to happen. The Irish international is 28, with two seasons of Premier League football under his belt for Wolves

He isn't the most technical player, he could shape himself better when receiving the ball and can take heavy touches. He lacks elegance and composure on the ball at times and can rush play. He definitely isn't a calming influence to a side that wants possession, but we don't

His passing stats also leave a lot to be desired, but with the role he's likely to play he won't be tasked with ball progression. And Aurier's numbers are even worse

Defensively he looks good in 1v1s with good footwork, scanning and awareness. In his WB role for Wolves he doesn't have much defensive support so can be left in 2v1s quite easily. He wants to press out, which he can do more in the Wolves system as the space is in front of him...

and the back 5 means that Boly is able to cover across easier than a back four. He might have to be more disciplined at Spurs. His pressing out can lack timing and anticipation at times and could make better decisions for when to press

He's aggressive too, likes to go into the back of players but could definitely commit less fouls, although he only got 1 yellow this season in the PL. He's a strong runner who has good movement and can drive into space

Overall, watching him he strikes me as a Mourinho player. At £12m he's good value. Like the Hojbjerg signing it is good, it strengthens our team and fills a function, but isn't the most inspiring signing
