Proctorio has been repeatedly claiming that they are not responsible for misuse of these features because it is always up to the institution and instructor whether to use them. By removing information about these features, they are now 100% responsible for misuse. That's a fact.

A central argument for mass surveillance is that "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear".

Proctorio is afraid. They are afraid of students. They are afraid of the truth. They are afraid of what they have made. It will all be illegal one day. What did YOU do?
