Everybody who is aware that I do critical work about tech assumes, without fail, that it’s about privacy and security. Even after actually reading my work, which explicitly is not about those things, they go on describing it in that way. That’s how pigeonholed tech criticism is.

i feel like it might literally kill some people to say the word “capitalism” or think of critique in terms of “political economy”. That’s how they act!
