I'm not sure people will grasp what is happening in the NBA right now.

My personal reaction is this;

It's fucking incredible.

The stand those players are making is truly remarkable.

While people sat waiting with their popcorn at home to be entertained, the players said No.

Black athletes, particularly in the USA have a unique power; the ability to shut down an entire industry, should they choose.

As a minority, this is rarely a choice. Your life exists in the parameters set by the majority. For most, if every black person where they work said...

'We want A!'

The response would be 'No'. And there would be very little they could do about it, being in the extreme minority in most cases.

One of the few arenas this is flipped, is sport.

The knowledge to identify themselves as some of the few black people with that power..

...and then actually put that into action, not fearing (as most of us would) the extreme scrutiny, vilification and abuse that will come with that stance, is beyond admirable.

They are standing together within Basketball. Other sports must stand with them...

Other sectors and industries must stand with sport.

Until nobody is making a leap to try and persuade people that justice is necessary.

The abuses have gone on way too long.

It's time to blow the lid off this muthafucker.

Just keep doing it. All sports should.

Hits their money and gets change VERY quickly.

NFL players should have done it years ago.
