it& #39;s really hard for me to explain what coloured culture is to people who dont care but idk its just a feeling of community, it& #39;s your mommy making soup at the first sight of rain, its gatsby and dominoes and it& #39;s the 21st key in the saal (bc where else do you throw a 21st)
its slangetjies and peanuts on that weird paper plate at parties and its sleeping on plastic chairs at 2am bc the party is still going on, its hearing the words & #39;milo& #39; and thinking of the game, it& #39;s making fun of guys who are more over their takkies and revving their cars
its everyone having that dinner set with the ugly flowers on, it& #39;s the language (I had to explain what skieting a kard is to my white friends the other dayhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😔" title="Nachdenkliches Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Nachdenkliches Gesicht">) its swirl kouse and not being able to use the word & #39;you& #39; to any adult ever, it& #39;s the plastic bags in the kitchen cupboard
its regals or quality streets on the table on christmas and koesisters on a sunday after church and a HUGE confirmation and it& #39;s a massive sunday lunch with your mommy skelling about how nobody helps her even though you just offered to help
idk culture means different things to different people but I feel closer to being coloured when I sit with my grandpa and play dominoes or when I have a koesister on a sunday and these things are so small but it& #39;s what makes me proud idk this probably sounds weird
