I keep seeing that "describe your own art style" post, so I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my own. I've got three of them, apparently—though they're less "styles" and more like levels. But for the sake of character count, let's stick with "styles".
This is my "simple" style, the one I resort to for quickly laying down ideas and warmups. With these, I focus mainly on concept and colors.
This is my middle ground—aka my "cowboy" style, where the 'boys come to roost. This is where I put more focus on shape and movement.
Last is my "experimental" style, where I spend a lot of time on sketches and meander my way to the finish line.
Anyways, this whole thread is just me talking to myself and examining my own stuff. There are days where I think to myself, "I've got no consistency, everything is so disparate!" when in reality, it's getting clearer (to me, anyway) that I do.
I'm in no position to give advice to other people, but I have found that if you keep drawing what makes you happy and laugh, you usually will end up somewhere you like. 🤠
