I have no words to explain how alienating it is that the overwhelming majority of trans masc representation in mainstream media involves the characters exclusively dating cis men

Bi and straight trans men are taught from an early age that loving and being attracted to women is bad and wrong, the ones of us who don't pass will suffer not only transphobia, but also misfired homophobia

Most of us have to come out twice. TWICE! Can you imagine what it's like to stretch out your family's love and respect for you, because the ones that might have accepted you in the first try might decide not to do it a second time?

Gay trans masc representation is cool! But there are other of us, too. And even like that, I never see mainstream books or TV series with gay and bi trans men dating each other? Why do we have to be almost exclusively portrayed with cis men?

I say this as someone who gets constant rejections on pitches and stories depicting trans masc people like me. It looks like our stories are seen as not "queer enough" for LGBT spaces (but our lives are queer enough for hate crimes! ), and it's MADDENING
