Hey Portland: Have you been told that interest in #PortlandProtests fell off after the feds (sort of) left? It sort of did, but it& #39;s still far greater than it was, and far greater than other cities (according to Wikipedia readership stats) https://pageviews.toolforge.org/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&redirects=0&start=2020-05-29&end=2020-08-22&pages=George_Floyd_protests_in_Portland,_Oregon|George_Floyd_protests_in_Seattle|George_Floyd_protests_in_Minneapolis%E2%80%93Saint_Paul|George_Floyd_protests_in_New_York_City|George_Floyd_protests_in_Washington,_D.C.">https://pageviews.toolforge.org/...
The "mountain" in late July correlates with the activity of federal officers in Portland. That began about July 2, but it was the reports of secret abductions by federal agents about July 14 that drew major attention. July 30 plans for withdrawal of federal agents were announced.
Also, if you& #39;re curious why Minneapolis readership was so low early on, it& #39;s because for the first couple weeks, there was only a general Minnesota article. https://pageviews.toolforge.org/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&redirects=0&start=2020-05-29&end=2020-08-22&pages=George_Floyd_protests_in_Minneapolis%E2%80%93Saint_Paul|George_Floyd_protests_in_Minnesota">https://pageviews.toolforge.org/...
Sadly, the effort to keep the article updated with current information has also fallen off since July. Day-by-day stats are not (readily) available, but compare the number of edits during August to those in July (the blue bars): https://pageviews.toolforge.org/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&redirects=0&start=2020-05-29&end=2020-08-22&pages=George_Floyd_protests_in_Minneapolis%E2%80%93Saint_Paul|George_Floyd_protests_in_Minnesota">https://pageviews.toolforge.org/...
