1/ many... We’ve got a significant October birthday coming up & we’ve been casting a misty eye back, taking stock, dusting off the many records, gig posters & memories, & indulging in some good old-fashioned pride & nostalgia as we reflect on our 15 years as a DIT* label...
Over the coming weeks we’ll be showcasing some of our finest & favourite moments from said 15 yrs, and without further ado, we kick off with the David @cronenbergswife classic debut single, ‘I Couldn’t Get Off’..
One of our first five 7” vinyl releases ( #4 infact!), we unleashed this two-chord tale of sexual frustration back in August 2007 and it appears on their debut album, ‘Bluebeard’s Rooms’, from the following year.
The B-side ‘My Date With Jenna Bush’ is a bizarre story about the celebrity stalking and supposed seduction of George W.Bush’s daughter set to a very moody Stooges style bass line.

Purveyors of some of the most twisted, visceral songwriting, delivered Fall-esque style over catchy, country twangs and rhythmic, dirty surf, post-punk riffs, DCW were staples of our 12 Bar Club Blang nights, & one of the earliest signings to the label.
Knowing possibly too much about Central Asian countries & their presidents through his work as an anti-corruption campaigner, Tom funnels his take on it all through some of his songs, listen to this year’s ‘The Ship (Necrologies)’ album to get the gist on that subject...
