Does the foster parents decide the best for the deaf children? Do they have the legal right to decide?

In two weeks from now, those foster parents decided to have a deaf child get a cochlear implant surgery without that child’s consent.

FOSTER parents.

The issue is too common. I know several non-signing foster parents who take deaf children in and decide to put those signing children in oral-deaf programs or get cochlear implants.

Implying the legal parents who have deaf children are unfit and stupid. Ridiculous.

Just stop. Fostering kids do not make you the best parents for them.

Those who change the deaf children overnight should have their foster parenting certificates revoked.

Also, the child’s case worker FIRED if they do anything what foster parents want OR encouraged this.

This thread applies to the history of deaf education. Why? Stories of oppression, seeking failed cures, abuse, etc. are part of the history.
