Getting spattered with political views from both sides on my timeline and I just wonder - why are people so eager to align themselves with one side/set of beliefs and forfeit any ability to accept another perspective and be nuanced in their beliefs?
Only one side of information is accepted as fact and usually, that information is a form of confirmation bias. Social media has been weaponized against us to remove our ability to think as individuals and instead fall in line with groupthink from one side or the other.
Politics and social matters aren't a team sport. But users of social media sure do treat it that way. And the companies that have access to your data make sure you root for that team for the rest of your life. The irony in this thread - I'm using social media to communicate it
