Here is a thread of all the non-Hindi & non-English films that I have watched and liked over the years.
It all started when someone compared this 2013 Kannada film to Nolan's style of film-making & had me intrigued.

Premam introduced me to Malayalam cinema. It is a coming-of-age romance drama featuring Nivin Pauly in lead role and had 17 actors making their debuts including the charming actor, Sai Pallavi.

"A young man has three opportunities to find love. Will the third time be the charm?"
A fantastic cop thriller Mumbai Police

"ACP Antony is the only one who knows the truth behind ACP Aaryan's murder. Antony meets with an accident, losing his memory & is unable to reveal the killer. He is forced to investigate the murder again hoping that he remembers something."
Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film received three National Film Awards and is a brilliant piece of cinema that blends suspense and thrill with the harsh realities of the ruthless world.

"Four labourers are tortured by the police to confess to a theft they have not committed."
A 2015 Tamil feel good film comedy drama, Kaaka Muttai revolves around two slum kids who get embroiled into the world of local politics and media circus when their only wish is tatste a pizza.

"Two slum kids want nothing more than a slice of pizza."
The first Iranian film to win the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

"A married couple are faced with a difficult decision - to improve the life of their child by moving to another country or to stay in Iran and look after a deteriorating parent who has Alzheimer's disease."
Starring Diljit Dosanjh & Kirron Kher in their career best performances, Punjab 1984 is set around the insurgency period in the state.

"During a time of political turmoil, a mother goes on a journey in search of her missing son, who has been misjudged and labeled a terrorist."
A neo-noir action thriller with R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupati in lead roles.

"Vikram, a no-nonsense police officer, accompanied by Simon, his partner, is on the hunt to capture Vedha, a smuggler and a murderer. Vedha tries to change Vikram's life, which leads to a conflict."
A gangster comedy, Jigarthanda is hugely entertaining.

"An aspiring director targets a ruthless gangster because he wants to make a violent gangster film. His discreet attempts to research the gangster fail miserably. Finally when he gets caught snooping, things hit the fan."
A black comedy anthology movie from Argentina united by a common theme of violence and vengeance. A gem of a film with each story as good as another.

"Six short stories that explore the extremities of human behavior involving people in distress."
From the director of Super Deluxe, Aaranya Kaandam is a cult classic and is regarded as the first neo-noir film in Tamil cinema. All I can say is, please watch this film as soon as possible.

"A mob boss must deal with a disgruntled mistress and a vanishing bag of cocaine."
The K3G of Malayalam cinema with Dulquer, Fahadh, Nivin, Parvathy, Nithya and Nazriya together in one film. Bangalore Days depicts the relationship between three cousins beautifully and is a must watch feel good film.

"Three cousins set out to fulfill their Bangalore dreams."
An A. R. Rahman-Mani Ratnam classic, O Kadhal Kanmani is among the best romantic films. Watch it for the amazing Dulquer-Nithya chemistry!

"Two young lovers are compatible in every way - they even agree that marriage is futile. However, their emotions are not so easily managed."
Harishchandrachi Factory, the Marathi flick is an essential viewing to know the story behind the birth of India cinema.

"In 1913, India's cinema industry is born from Dadasaheb Phalke's efforts to make Raja Harishchandra, India's first feature-length B&W silent film."
