City staff are presenting on the"project to rename Dundas St", it was sparked by the shooting of George Floyd in the USA apparently- and they're talking about the idea as if they've already decided...
And it's not just Dundas Street they're targeting, also subway stations, a park, Dundas Square, and a library.
Scope creep is in progress, they're talking about changing "all city asset names" that are "connected to systemic racism" that's "systematically embedded in the city landscape" #topoli
Three times today someone has referred to the initiative between black and indigenous communities (who, the "afro-indigenous rising" anarchists setting up tent cities?)
It makes me cringe everytime someone says "the indigenous community", indigenous people are diverse and many- it's blatantly racist condensing them into one big monolithic blob like they are. #topoli
Adding insult to the speakers racism, this "Aboriginal Affairs Advisory" group has literally spent more time refering to Black Lives Matter than indigenous people. Gross. #topoli
Thee speakers so far have claimed that Black Lives Matter has sparked changing street names "around the globe". Seriously? Sounds like a bit of an exaggeration...
Indigenous people have real life (and death) problems impacting their lives, but the Aboriginal Affairs Committee isn't addressing them- they're focused on forwarding progressive agenda items like renaming streets, "data for equity" and defunding police

The city government is debating what constitutes a sacred fire now. It's a messy impossible task, and a could set a dangerous precedent. Governments shouldn't be in the business of defining which religious practices are genuine and which ones are not- crazy stuff #topoli
If you're watching the city of Toronto committee debating sacred fires, here's a pic of the fire that sparked the debate- a hibachi in the middle of the sidewalk on College St. I met an old friend from Occupy Toronto there that night. #TOpoli
Okay, after finishing their debate on the city government defining the validity of religious practices, the committee is ending the meeting with a prayer- wasn't it the progressive movement that led the charge to ban praying at government institutions? #TOpoli
