Hello everyone, wanted to clarify some things đź‘‹

You may have guessed by now: I'm out as neurodivergent, I talk about it openly on here, and it is a big influence on my creative work - including the work not about neurodivergence, which is actually most of it.

But... (1/?)
I am not qualified to offer advice on neurodivergence/disability/MH issues, take on people's own related stories unsolicited, or advocate on every issue possible. I really appreciate that people feel able to share with me - but the reality is I'm not equipped to handle it. (2/?)
I am an artist above all, i.e. an overly empathetic sensitive git. I'm not a (sensible) resource for neurodivergence, and truthfully when I'm treated as one, sometimes it makes me feel my art isn't valued beyond ticking a box. (Which I know to not be true, FWIW.) (3/?)
I really don't enjoy feeling like that, strangely enough. It's not good for the soul, or getting work done.

Mostly I'm just out here living my life; that's a radical act in itself. I'd much rather continue in that vein, and protect my MH and creative headspace. So... (4/?)
As of now, I will not be reading or responding to any personal questions or messages about neurodivergence, disability or MH. That includes (but isn't limited to) through email, DMs or replies to posts on here (including this thread!). (5/?)
If you're looking for that kind of information about autism, the #ActuallyAutistic community are wonderful. #adhdtwitter have my ADHD fam's backs. There's also the #BPDChat, #dyspraxia and #Dyslexia communities. All full of great people sharing knowledge and experiences. (6/?)
I hope this clears things up wrt me and Being Online.

I look forward to seeing you all at a show, in a Zoom chat or in a nonsense thread on here soon xxx
