So people in the RWBY FNDM think that only LGBT people should talk about if something has good representation or not and here’s why that’s a problem. For those who don’t know CJ Black made a tweet about his problem with May and just asking why people liked her, but the LGBT folks
had a problem with that and the issue with them saying that only LGBT people can talk about representation are the same people who’ll talk about Adam abuse even though they’ve never been in an abusive relationship as far as I’m aware, and I love how all of never list a reason
for liking May and the sad part is so many people actually agree with them, like you people do realize someone doesn’t have to be LGBT to call something bad cause at the end of the day it’s just an opinion to act as if only a specific group of people should talk about something
is ridiculous that’s like saying only people who’ve been abandoned my there mothers get to talk about yang or only those who have PTSD get to talk about Yangs PTSD it sounds like a gatekeepers move really and do none of you understand that research is a thing right
just because someone isn’t in the LGBT community doesn’t mean that they can’t educate themselves on the topic like I made a long thread about Yangs PTSD dispute never having PTSD but I did my research on the topic so I could get a better understanding of it
and to make CJ point a little clear here he’s not saying you can’t like May it’s just gotta be a better reason then oh I like her cause she trans or because you can connect with them because anyone can say that you have to have a better reason for example I like Deku not because
he’s a white kid but because I really like his sense of drive and focus, the way he wants to help people is really heart warming and the way he can be strategic in combat is impressive. You see those are reasons of why I like him it’s not just because of the skin colour it’s
because of what they do. And hell there are people who understand CJ point I’m not sure how so many of you missed it. The main problem I have with this is that I’m worried that the same people who are using this argument of you’re not X so you can’t talk about x topic will
use that argument not just for LGBT stuff and use it when there’s actually problems with the characters writing in RWBY. So those of you saying that’s there nothing wrong here and can you people stop being so hypocritical like CJ can say liking May just because she’s trans you
give him hate but if an LGBT person agrees with him your just okay with that.
Oh an I’m not cool with Hunney acting as if CJ said it insulting him when Hunney is just paraphrasing but acting as if it actually did or how most of you think that you need to say that your LGBT all it does is it sets a bad precedent for the future. Like is it really necessary
to say that you’re a part of the LGBT community. I kinda hate how they act like they knew she was trans but probably only knew because of the VA saying it on Twitter and it never being hinted at it mention in the show
and if you people are going to say things like this care to show the proof of what you’re saying cause after seeing Hunney tweets I’m a little skeptical on how true that is
And let me makes CJ point clear if your entire character has one thing going for them like being bi/gay/straight whatever you don’t have a good character, but if your character has a good motivation or strong motivations and a good goal and there sexuality is second that’s a good
character. And one more thing people who should be allowed to criticize something they don’t like why do they have to be in the LGBT community to criticize it?
And to make my point all little more clear on bad precedent what i mean is that if the big creators on here start using when someone does something wrong it’s they can just use that excuse if I’m LGBT or whatever and get not hate
