Only my opinion of course, but I think young people behaved better when parents tried to be parents to their kids instead of friends to their kids.
A lot of this has to do with (mostly) men of all races not doing their jobs properly. Too many unmarried mothers trying to raise white, black, and brown kids by themselves. It's a societal failure that we'll be paying for generations from now.
And I don't spare myself from this criticism btw, all 3 of my kids were born out of wedlock unfortunately, however I recovered from that idiocy, married the mother of the latter two and helped raise them all up to be (so far) upstanding, hard working, respectful US citizens.
No one's saying you'll be perfect, but we men have to take more responsibility for what's going on in society bc it starts at home, when they're young. We need to be there. All the time, as parents first and then as friends.
