There’s some talk about “Loud Voices” speaking out against Canva.
Since I’ve probably been the loudest-on @ThoughtFeedPod: https://bit.ly/3gsysOZ and on my blog: https://bit.ly/34w6iAp today I'd like to be a bit more positive about why I think you should ditch Canva. Thread:

Canva is a great tool--for beginners. But if you need to design for your job, it’s worth investing in yourself to learn Adobe Suite.
You may not think you’re a graphic designer, but if your job requires you to create visual assets everyday--you are one.

You’ll create better content & it’s easier in the long term. Also, the cost isn’t higher. A subscription to Photoshop is $10 a month. Same as Canva Pro.
At some point, if you’re designing for professional use, you need to level up to professional tools.

You don’t have to get a graphic design degree either. There’s TONS of resources online to teach you Adobe Suite and design skills.
Skillshares, Lynda videos, YouTube tutorials, the list goes on.
I can do this all day.

Plus, you’ll learn how to better work with the graphic designers at your org.
You’ll be speaking the same language. You’ll understand their struggles.
And you’ll be able to collaborate better using the same tools and file types.
We are stronger together.

There’s a lot of you that I’ll never convince. And that’s okay. No shade if you want to keep on using Canva. (Okay, maybe some shade)
But if you want to invest in yourself and learn a new skill to improve your work. I’m rooting for you. I'm happy to help too. You can do this.
