Looks to me like he was running towards the police for safety and was attacked.
No idea what lead up to this. He also turns himself in to police immediately after.
Thread about how he still F& #39;d up.

The fact he turns himself over to them makes me believe he was running to them for safety, but he definitely did not handle the situation well & will get arrested.
This is why proper engagement training is so important & will save lives. Both civilians & police are lacking in it

I also think he stands up afterwards and fires a few more shots at the crowd, which will probably land him in jail for a long time
There was no need for those shots and if they hit anyone he should be prosecuted for them.
Although the first altercation looks like self defense.

I mean if I was in his position of being down and being attacked I would have fired.
And honestly it was only a matter of time before this happened.

There have been too many videos of unarmed, non-protesters getting the sh*t beat out of them. Eventually people were going to start fighting back.
Also I& #39;d like to say that bringing a rifle to this event is a bad move. Probably meant to intimidate protestor, but more than likely just mad this guy a target of aggression.
A pistol would have been a far better choice, if you were just looking to defend yourself.

I& #39;m intentionally staying away from the topic of the root cause of the protest. I intend this thread to be directly related to the actions of this shooter.
That being said I think police reform is important. I believe they are woefully under trained with their firearms, and often do not properly follow rules of engagement. The police need to be better. Period. A stronger bond with communities would help a lot too.
Serve and protect.
Not rule and control.

I also support the 2A and the right to protect yourself and private property.
These are not mutually exclusive beliefs. You can support both.
