The Democrat convention was a celebration of themselves. The Republican convention is a celebration of the American people. No contest.
The Democrats offered a lot of airy and ridiculous rhetoric about how Joe Biden, a corrupt and vicious partisan dealing with serious mental incapacity, was supposedly a medical and economic genius and a great uniter. They trotted out one old swamp-dwelling geezer after another.
The Republican convention is brimming with youth and energy. More importantly, they're making a persuasive case that resonates with real people, and they're bringing receipts - speakers with life experience that backs up what they say Both their steak and sizzle are better.
Of course the opposition party is going to oppose, but the Dems went way, way overboard. Watching reporters struggle to pretend their dark, bleak, hateful convention was some kind of Candyland romp was hilarious, especially with Democrat cities in flames in the background.
The Democrats were foolish to let the Clintons be involved in their convention. They made a mockery of their pretensions to moral superiority, reminded everyone why they loathe Hillary, and put Bill front and center while photos of his romps with Epstein filled our screens.
During the two conventions, law and order became an increasing concern of Americans because of the Democrat riots and Abolish the Police, while the coronavirus faded as an issue for Dems because of all the new cases breaking out in places that did "everything right."
You can tell the pandemic is fading fast as an issue for Dems because their media suddenly stopped obsessing about "cases." The latest round of free coronavirus passes for protesters and Democrat VIPs is filling voters with disgust. Biden's facile comments will haunt him.
Above all, the issue that's really going to define the rest of this campaign is that Democrats tried to legitimize political violence. The American people would be foolish not to punish them hard for it.
It's far too late for Democrats to take it back, or suddenly start pretending they think their street battalions went a little too far. There's no getting around it: The Democrat Party did everything it could to legitimize the use of violence to achieve political ends.
That's even more of an issue than running on the rule of law, although that's clearly at stake too. The American people should powerfully recoil from the Democrat use of violence to enforce their agenda. The most common term for that is "terrorism," and it fits in this case.
Terrorists always seek legitimacy and advance a "political wing" to launder fear and intimidation into influence and government power. The same dynamic is at play with Democrat-sponsored, Democrat-enabled violence in the streets and the party's political campaigns.
It's not okay for Dems to be just a "little bit" terrorist, or stop well short of what the "hardcore" terrorist fanatics would do. You don't want an IOTA of legitimized violent force mixed into democracy. A drop of that vile stuff will quickly corrupt the whole.
The key element of the Democrat agenda at every level - from their staged convention and political campaigns to their street violence - is that YOU don't get a say. YOU don't get to say no, to resist. Left stormtroopers are currently saying you don't even get to be silent.
Everything about Democrat ideology is force, coercion, demands, regulations, redistribution. It's all about some people having more rights than others. It's all about demands you have no right to refuse. No surprise their hotheads are burning cities and assaulting people.
If the American people do not forcefully and utterly reject the infusion of violence into our political system in this election, they WILL get more of it. It will become an arms race. Every group will conclude it needs to hurt people and destroy things to be taken seriously.
And remember the law of diminishing returns applies to coercion, as to every other resource. The Left will need to pummel the American people harder to squeeze out each new drop of compliance, every new dollar of taxes and regulatory cost. Resistance will be punished harder.
If you think left-wing violence in the streets is bad now, you don't want to see what happens if you let Democrats do well in this election and they feel obliged to beat America even harder to save their failing socialist schemes in the years to come.
The Dems will blame all of their failures on convenient class and racial scapegoats... and their most excitable constituents will take "justice" into their own hands when politicians can't deliver it. Stop this now by punishing Dems at the ballot box, or it WILL get worse. /end
