In the midst of the worry about a #SafeSeptember take time to celebrate the victories. The last 2 months have seen improvements in the school reopening plan. Today’s announcement of 2 billion in funds from the Feds should help even more because we aren’t where we need to be.

These improvements have not happened because Ford and Lecce had a sudden change of heart. These improvements happened because parents, education workers, principals, trustees, nurses, doctors, politicians, unions, & others have been unified and loud. This has been historic.

You have made a difference. You have been amazing. In a perfect world you wouldn’t have had to do a thing & Ford/Lecce would have gotten it right on their own. I’ve been doing this long enough to know there is no perfection when it comes to public services. We have to fight!

We are getting there. The next week (weeks because boards will likely have to redo their reopening plans yet again) will be so very critical. Keep up the pressure. You have got this. Together we can work to ensure a #SafeSeptember
