Some films dwell in memory for their aesthetical quality, they might not be extremely entertaining nor politically relevant. Yet they make a lasting impression on our mind.

Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati (Sanjay Bhansali's Padmavat) - A Thread. đŸŒč
Khilji is just an eccentric, self-obsessed power-hungry antagonist. The character isn't author-backed, yet, we somehow are driven into the narrative because of the uncanny resemblance of Ramayana. The introduction shot of Khilji (with ostrich) made an outstanding impression.
Rawal Ratan Singh confronted by Rani Padmavati. She, surely has a trace of the Yoddha of Mithila. ❀
The most appealing virtue of Sanjay Leela Bhansali is his visual sense, he applies a traditional form of shot-composition, they are static, mostly wide, extensive use of colours. There's a lot that could be learnt in the context of aesthetics in his films.
Deepika is as-usual gorgeous in every frame, but I want to stress on this Yoddha look of her in the initial part of the film. She looks poignant. ❀❀❀
The Pictureseque-ness. SLB is a master in visual-romance. She blocks the frame like a painting, it gives the feel of a sculpture. And, the proposal scene of Ratan Singh and Padmavat isâ€ïžđŸ€
I had the deepest sympathy for Shahid while I watching the film in the theatre. Because his role was unlearned. However, now I realize his presence elevated the scenes he appeared. The Shahid-Deepika pair looked less awkward in this revisit.
It feels ironic that I find the storytelling extremely pale, but at the same time, I cherish the shot-making, blocking, and the cinematography of the narrative. Khilji (Ranveer Singh) repelling the Moghul Invasion scene is sharp and effective. đŸ”„
Ghoomor Appreciation Tweet.

What should I say? Is there any contemporary actor could match her in such songs (Priyanka is her senior and an exception)? I guess no. Though I prefer Pinga or Nagada Sang Dhol anyday over Ghoomar. The song is melodious, and it was shot really well.
Masterclass on Staging and Shot-composition by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in collaboration with Sudeep Chatterjee (The cinematographer).
Deepika in Deepavali episode. 😍😍
I loved the set-design of the giant tent of Khilji when he arrives at Chittor. 'Binte Dil' song (by Arijit Singh) grabs my attention even now, & this quirky relationship between Khilji and Jim Sarbh's character is one of the most interesting aspects of the film.
The typical Bhansali romance. I think his romance is so dramatic on the lines Raj Kapoor and Yash Chopra. Apart from romance, Deepika, & Shahid,

"Holi aayi re piya ji re des re
Mhaaro Shyam hathilo Kanho
Kesar khelat hori re"

The Rajasthani folk soothes your heart. ❀
Rani Padmini is a fierce yoddha, she believes in rational morality rather than the traditional values. She is the sanity in the narrative. I liked this subtle or clear undertone of the woman being more rational, firm than both the lead men in the film. Glad, Mr Bhansali.
This is one of the most interesting scenes in the entire film. The screenplay builds a proper tension unlike the rest of the film, barring a few moments here and there. Rani Padmini's character is so beautiful that it got mercilessly ruined by the weak male characters around.
Most of the Indian filmmakers go wrong in the dramatization part. I find Bhansali hitting the right chords most of the times. We need dramatists, the people who could entertain us, enthral us, and the stories they say will reach the aam aadmi. Like Raj Sahab, Mehboob Khan.
Deepika is the QUEEN. Gosh. Her eyes speak the language of highness. And the entire second half is driven by women of the film, that is something to be appreciated.
Woah. This is another exciting part of the film where Padmavati indites an irreproachable trap to free Rawal Singh from the Khilji's custody. Woah. I still remember the cheers of the audience at the theatre for this scene. đŸ˜đŸ”„
"Ek main hoon, ek imaan hai
Dono tujhpe haan tujhpe
Dono tujhpe qurbaan hain."

Another well-shot, a satisfying fusion melody Ek Jaan hai. We know through the song that the apocalypse is coming. Dramatically all good, but asking permission for Jauhar appeared audacious, though.
Shots. 🙏🙏
The enchanting score, phosphorescent visuals, wonderful choreography, and above Deepika's magnetic screen presence emotionally ties us to the screen. Politically speaking, the act is not something appreciatable, but hence it is a drama/fiction, I overlooked it.
Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati.

That's the Tweet.
