One of the great tragedies of the last couple of decades has been TV shows confusing facts/knowledge with intelligence. Facts have been around for thousands of years and for what? Knowledge is meaningless without reasoning! The great triumph of science is teaching us HOW to think
Carl Sagan was able to distill complex subjects into succinct analogies because he understood them in detail. Even a child could grasp his explanation of the Cold War!
There's something beautiful in how he captures such poignant truths so eloquently

Often, people feel dumb about asking questions, but as Carl Sagan points out, there's nothing dumb about asking a question. Honestly, it's dumb to stay silent.
