Ho boy... The Art is vital part of a #ttrpg https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đŸ’Ÿ" title="Diskette" aria-label="Emoji: Diskette">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🐮" title="Pferdegesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Pferdegesicht"> is on my feed.

YES ART IS IMPORTANT. PAY INDIES THEIR FULL FUCKING PRICE!

SEE A 5€ INDIE GAME? TIP 10€ MORE!

There. Now no-one will complain that "art isn& #39;t important".

Why? As with the current product placement we& #39;ve been told a good game HAS to have MtG quality art on all page.

NO!

ART FOR ART sake is an ART BOOK. Those are awesome.

TTRPGs don& #39;t have to be art books. Also they don& #39;t need to have settings.

Don& #39;t support WotC! Support INDIE!
OK back to rage. I went to heat my food.

But yeah. Don& #39;t get me wrong. I do think art is cool. It creates the evocative feeling of the genre, the game, everything.

But I come from a time when ttrpg books were handwritten transcripts / typewriter copies / faxed.
Till 2000 we "didn& #39;t have art" in our books. We mostly had cheap print copies.

But does that mean I don& #39;t like art? No.

I just don& #39;t find that MORE ART == better ttrpg.

It& #39;s a combination of everything.

Rules, writing, art.
By placing the MORE ART thing, a lot of indies fall short.

They feel less worthy. Even with utterly better game design and writing.
